The following is an exact description and list of what Mtn2Sea Ministries needs to be able to respond to disasters quickly and effectively, providing True Hope in times of disasters. Consider partnering with us (and telling your church, your business, friends etc.) by helping us meet any of the following needs.
We have 7 different need sections:
Scroll past the pics for a detailed list of needs.
We give the Gospel of John tract to share true Hope along with physical hope.
When deploying the day of a disaster, there is no power and no way to communicate. We had one Starlink this year which allowed us to provide communications for the community as well as for us to operate. We need 3 more to be able to communicate between trucks when out of radio contact. We currently have licensed GRMS radios for our trucks as well as hand helds. The base camp antenna will allow us a far greater area to communicate.
We have utilized the same cabinets and shelves for disaster relief for years. These specific cabinets allow us to simply roll in pre-sorted supplies to an affected church. The church then simply opens them up for people to get what they need. When they are through, we pick them up and reuse them for other disasters. To outfit 3 new trailers, so we can bring in even more supplies this year, we need more. We purchase these from Sam's.
The supplies list was comprised from 20 years of disaster relief experience of learning what basics are really needed and can be used by those with no utilities. These prices are from Sam's.
The 2 cargo trailers will be deployed the day of a disaster. Or in the case of a hurricane, pre-deployed to instantly go in. The new trailers will have a bathroom and area to sleep along with bringing in 10 supply cabinets and 50 generators. Having 2 will allow us to bring in 20 supply cabinets and 100 generators to one location or have them in different communities at the same time. The bathrooms and sleeping areas, allows volunteers to stay longer in areas where there are no resources.
The 53’ semi-trailer will allow us to bring in another 100+ generators and 20+ supply cabinets along with pallets of supplies. It will also have an office and serve as the base camp for operations. This trailer will allow us to serve in multiple communities at the same time, working out of the base camp. The trailer will have an awning that will provide 1000 square foot of extra space for us to minister from. It will come in as quickly as the roads allow.
Our overall goal in disaster relief is to quickly get a local church up and running. In most disasters, whatever location/facility is up and running first will be the center of relief. We feel like that should be a local church. Having a large generator to run a local church would instantly allow it to be the center of hope. We currently run church kitchens with small generators but cannot run the entire church. A large generator would allow this.
Also, one of the main issues in a disaster is that there is no fuel. Having a large generator would allow us to make a local gas station operational so the community can get very needed fuel for generators, chainsaws, vehicles, etc. Like the semi-trailer, we can buy a solid used one at a fraction of the price.
The need for basic meals in the first few days is very high. It takes a while before feeding units show up. We have found that providing simple meals of hotdogs and hamburgers can go a long way to bridge the gap when there is no food to be had. Each trailer will have what it needs to be able to feed a few hundred basic meals a day. We already have one outfitted.
