Current Ministry Update

Update on future Ministry Plans:

For the last couple of months we have been doing our regular ministry operations. Helping those in need locally and around the world. We have also been getting things ready for a ministry restructuring. Our future plans for the ministry will be built around 3 different areas of ministry that all lead to one, sharing the love of Christ through the Gospel and serving those in need. Our new plans will still have us, not being the Hands and Feet of Christ, but the work gloves and work boots! This new Mtn2Sea Ministries plan starts this week! Our new plan is basically a redesign of what we have been doing for the past 14 years. The new plan will allow us to concentrate on what we are good at and allow us to do those things without having to be as dependent on ongoing donor resources  we never can seem to obtain. Why the restructuring? After 14 years, we still have less than 10 monthly individual donors and one monthly church. As far as a budget, we can only be sure that we will be able to count on around $15,000 a year. As you can imagine, that makes it pretty tough to operate.  But… God always provides and allows us to do some Huge things in His name! The new plan will allow us to concentrate on 3 main areas that He has shown us we can be successful in and the plan will allow us to be able to operate doing them with a small budget and limited resources. We are not going to try and be Samaritains Purse or the Red Cross. Our goal is to just be the best at what we do, at what ever size He allows us to be. Please take a minute and look at our new plan and pray about partnering with us.

How you can Partner with us!
Explaining our new plan will take a minute. So before we possibly lose you, here is how you can partner with us if you would like. We never beg for money. We have never even had an actual fundraiser. Instead we simply want to offer you the OPPORTUNITY to be apart of something awesome that God is doing. The opportunity to not just help those in need around the corner and around the world while sharing the Gospel with them, but also the opportunity to help us build disciples (of those individuals and groups who serve with us) to truly become servants of the Lord in their daily lives. An opportunity to support a ministry that has never paid $1 in salaries in 14 years nor owes any money and maintains the strictest of overhead. An opportunity to know exactly where your donations will be used. An opportunity to also see first hand where your donation is being used as you can be hands on in administering it yourself (bring some work gloves!).

We could use:
Individual Monthly supporters (This is what we use for our monthly budget and how we survive on a daily basis. Even small amounts each month help!)
One time givers (These are what we use to buy tools, equipment, etc.)
Church Support (Monthly or 1 time for purchases)
Serve with us (During disasters, we always need volunteers in different forms. During mission projects we also need volunteers. Our needs are based on what we are doing)
Groups (Tell your church/friends/families to come serve with us. We can facilitate youth, families, men/women's, college, etc. We take care of all the logistics. You just come and share and serve.)
Speaking Engagements (If you need someone to speak about missions and getting your church involved, let us know. We want even mention our ministry, just missions!)
Share this email! (it would be so helpful if you would simply forward this email to anyone you think would be interested)
Prayer (Saved the most important for last! Please consider praying for Mtn2Sea Ministries. Pray we always follow His path)

If you are interested in an opportunity to help financially, we have included a list of what we are trying to purchase currently for our missions program starting next week and to be prepared  asap for the next disaster, not getting prepared after it happens. You can send us a check (or easier, just click here) and tell us exactly where you would like your donation to be used. We have even included the item number in case you just wanted to go and purchase it yourself so you know exactly how your donation was used. Either way, how ever you want to help is how we will use your donation. You say buy a saw for disaster relief, we buy a saw. You say buy a trailer for missions, we buy a trailer! Our goal is to raise $180,000. Seems like a huge amount to us, but… good thing our boss is HUGE! That number is nothing for God. It is also a small amount to allow us to become the best equipped ministry of our size anywhere for missions and the "go too" for our area in times of disasters. If you would like to partner with us, we would love to have you. If not, we want beg you. God’s people should never have to be in the begging business. We will just stay small and keep serving as best we can.

The New Plan:
Disaster Relief
We are putting in place a dedicated Disaster Relief/Response plan. We have always done this type of ministry, but with our limited resources we have never been able to put together a clear plan of action. Instead just responding if we had the resources to do so. Mtn2Sea Ministry (funds willing) will be constructing a team to respond immediately (as in, almost before its over) to our area in South East Georgia in case of a disaster (Tornados, Hurricanes, Floods, etc.). We will also respond to our region of the South East US with in a day or so of an event. If we have the resources, we will also respond to other Disasters in the US and internationally as we have in the past. How will we respond. With trained/untrained volunteers to help in relief. We will also serve as an area wide asset to be used in order to collect and deliver supplies to those in need. As in the past, we will provide teams using disaster tools such as chainsaws and prayerfully with some more funds, a skid-steer (bobcat) to help physically in times of disasters. Also, serving as a collection point for supplies needed, we will then as in the past, hand deliver the collect supplies and placing them personally in the hands of those in need. Making sure that what people spent time and money to donate does not end up in a warehouse sitting months after the disaster as we have seen all over the world. We are currently trying to obtain the tools and equipment needed to make this "Disaster Ministry" a success. Our goal is to be ready, not getting ready for a disaster. Our goal is to have the tools, saws, tractor and even a semi trailer for storing and hauling disaster supplies, constantly at the ready. We want to be able to respond instantly! Not sitting around for days and weeks making a plan and trying to get folks involved. Once a disaster happens, we should be in instant action physically helping and sharing the love of Christ!

Summer Groups
Although we have been success hosting and facilitating mission groups, we have not been successful in getting locals and churches to get behind us in becoming a “local” missions ministry. Our goal has always been to provide local churches and Christians 52 weekly local and 12 monthly foreign mission projects. This is something our local area is not interested in. So, after a decade of trying to make us a “local” ministry, we decided it was time to just be who we are. That’s a ministry that provides groups with mission opportunities to serve those in need while sharing the Love of Jesus. We have learned we can do that anywhere. So… starting in a couple of weeks we are going mobile! We will be offering the same sort of mission trips and projects as we have for the past 14 years. Now we will be doing them where ever the need is. This month we will be in the Mexico Beach/Port St. Joe area hosting groups doing hurricane relief/recovery. Our plan going forward is to host 1000 participants in the summer and on holidays during mission work in areas of need throughout the South East U.S. We are in the process currently of building the best most comprehensive tool and equipment trailers available in order to be the best at hosting missions projects as any in the country for our size. Our goal for mission groups is for them to come and serve while sharing the love and Gospel of Jesus while learning to be disciples and servants of God in their daily life. They shouldn’t be worried about logistics or if they will have the right tools. We will take care of all of that. Taking the worries out of serving, allowing them to concentrate on the sharing Jesus part!

Foreign Missions
As in the past, we will continue to take groups and individuals to serve in some of the world’s poorest countries as well as in some that aren’t so poor, but are poor in the knowledge of the love of Jesus. For years we have been building relationships with mission groups around the world. However, we are always looking for more contacts. Not everyone is spiritually in the same place in life, so every trip should not be the same. So please share any foreign contacts you might have with us, so we can have more trip options to offer for people at different levels.

The following is a list of what we are currently trying to obtain. This list completed, will allow us to become the best equipped ministry of its size and allow us to serve at a much greater level! If you would like to help us purchase anything from the list, just give us the item number and how many you want to help with.
